Electricity 02:56
Electricity, My fingers against you skin, Complete the current Oh, your radiance, The sun shining in your hair, In the morning light, Your head on my chest, All your little gentle breaths, Diffuse within me, When I close my eyes, And your hand runs up my side, It's a lucid dream, In our temple of sheets we are divine, The tranquil touch of soft lips and our thighs, Beyond the breezing curtains is a lie, I've got the whole world tucked in at my side. Come back to bed. In those gentle eyes, The soft turquoise oasis, I feel magnatized, In those vast blue seas, When the dark storm clouds roll in, I'll put you at ease, If we go outside, Start the day the normal way, This moment passes, But in here my dear, Time screeches to a halt for, Silhouettes entwined In our temple of sheets we are divine, The tranquil touch of soft lips and our thighs, Beyond the breezing curtains is a lie, I've got the whole world tucked in at my side. Come back to bed.

Closer 04:09
I'm half the man I ought to be, And I've figured out I'm just no good at being alone. If you ask I'll say and say I'm fine, I know distance makes your heart grow fonder than mine. It's to easy to say I miss you, I miss all the little things that constitute you. If I learn a lot by standing on my own feet, I'll forget again the second our sweet lips meet. On and on I need you closer, come on. I know I said it's good for you, But I never thought I'd actually have to follow through. Now I'm half the man I ought to be, And the hell with it, come back and complete me. When my nights are lonely I'll be thinking of you, And the smell of your hair and your soft skin too, And the sound of your voice, The sound of your voice, I'll be thinking of you, I'll be thinking of you. I need you closer, come on.

Red faced and breathless telling jokes on the porch, Under a canopy of pink skies and olive branches, Staying out all night talking about love and about war, And the space between words and old-time dances, And anywhere I go in sprawling conversation, You meet me half way with beautiful observation, And your words are so acutely different than mine, But they always weave together like a strong grapevine. We howled at the moon and challenged the notion of time, As a moment became a minute and then an hour and then a night. After you sung me every word of every song you've ever known, And I hooted and cheered like you were starring at the Apollo, I stole some flowers that the neighbors had grown, I threw you a rose, you were a tough act to follow, I tried to impress you by being a know-it-all, But you didn't really care about how Maine looked in the fall, So I made up funny stories and tried to play it cool, But you saw right through me before I could see through you, But the farther I saw, the farther I wanted to go, You just got sweeter and sweeter the more I got to know (you) That night in La Jolla Cove I cursed every mile as I drove you, And we said goodnight and kissed like it was the fall of Rome, And even Mr. Nero would have put down his bow, As our kingdom burned and our ashes glowed, But as much as I bitch, the sun will still rise, Tomorrow never knows so why should I, If I stay hung up on what's come and what's gone, The world will while around me until I get back on. So I'll write you some shitty song about the night so you can never forget, That night in La Jolla Cove.

Lullaby 03:44
It's cold outside, but its warm under the covers. It's warm with you. Close your eyes, We can drift to San Francisco, We can picnic out in Yellowstone, We can watch the Northern Lights, Anything you'd like, I just want to hold you tonight. Now we're still, Like the apple in the painting, Like the schoolyard when its raining, The museum at night, Anything you'd like, I just want to hold you tonight. Close your eyes, I promise I won't let you go, All your little sighs and your tired moans, Like poetry to me, And when I fall asleep, I'll be waiting anxiously, You are my only dream.

On a stool in a bar on Carmine street, You leaned in real close and whispered to me, You said, “I can’t do it no more, I got a life back at home, where it’s quiet and warm And you think this damn city is Woody Allen movie, Queens is endearing and Bleecker Streets’ groovy, And the trains run on time ‘cause Bloomberg says so, And the waterfront's so pretty, I know, I know Back home there’s a guy, he’s a regular guy, But he makes my heart jump when he catches my eye, And for all the lights that make my eyes go wide, Without seeing stars at night start to I feel so blind, You treat me so good and I know you mean well, But you bleed New York blues and you can’t even tell, And you and I and like the wind and the tide, We move together but we’ll never see eye to eye ___ There were frosty shadows in the streetlight’s glow, And girls in scarves pacing through the snow, And from the sidewalk grate jazz came from below, In the West 4th station where the bebop cats roam, And in the park among drunks and German tourists, There was a libertarian trying to pick up a Marxist, And in the deli across the street from where we first kissed, I got some shitty coffee and I reminisced, Walked the highline from start to finish, You didn’t know if that was the real New York experience, But it was late at night and those tracks were all ours, And we found nirvana above meatpacker bars, And I grabbed your hand and you looked surprised, I said, “If I could, I’d stay here until sunrise, Watch the first of morrow’s light seep through the river, I owe it to God for the girl he delivered.” ___ In that diner on 3rd with the jukebox you liked, Where you thought they shot Seinfeld for the first 4 times, Your eyes were so vacant when you looked up at me, And when you did, I wished you’d never stopped stirring your tea, Trying my best to hide the tremble in my lip, I asked you what’s wrong and you took a sip, My stomach churning for your voice’s sweet remedy, You took a breath, smiled and said, “Hey, this one’s on me.” I stumbled home that night singing 'My Girl', Loud and out of tune, I was telling the world, And I serenaded some stray cat by a laundromat, I was love-drunk and vile but my dreams intact, And as different as we are I can feel it in my bones, Our roots will curl together as this new love grows, And all the little things that we don’t see eye to eye, Will fade like passing planes into the night sky Because girl, you and I are like the wind and the tide I spent so long in a rose tinted glass jar, Until you gave me a call and said, “Hey, let’s go to the bar”
